Lavare Washroom Products Packaging

This is a project I did as a student at Central Washington University. The task was to find a product at the dollar store and brand it in a way that makes it more desirable. I found some washroom products that seemed to be decent quality. I thought that a way to make them more fun would be to have consumers draw their own patterns on them. The name Lavare came from a long research and brainstorming process. Lavare is the Latin root for Lavender. It’ means to wash, to clean, or to purify. Lavender is used as a remedy to relieve stress and anxiety. Coloring or drawing is also a remedy people use to relieve stress and anxiety. Being connected to washing and stress relief, I though Lavare would be a great name for a line of washroom products that can be drawn on. I designed the logo using my own hand writing, which goes along with the hand drawn pattern idea. The packaging is made of pieces of cardboard and hemp twine. The raw look of this is meant to appeal to consumers who are interested in DIY projects. Each product has a different hand drawn pattern on the packaging, giving the consumer ideas of patterns they could draw on the product. The ceramic products include a sharpie that can be used to draw on them. The cloth products include a paint pen that can be used to draw on them. Instructions are included showing how to set the ink or paint to make the artwork stay.
